How To Stop Buzzing Hissing From Car Speakers Elimate Interferance

If you're getting a buzzing or hissing sound coming out of your car speakers or engine noise then this can become frustrating and annoying. If you notice the interference gets louder as you increase the RPM rev range by pushing the accelerator pedal, this is an common issue called engine whine in the car audio world. This tends to happen when you add an aftermarket car amplifier and upgrade the stock car audio system. This car audio problem can easily be resolved, but you will have to troubleshoot the different possibilities.

The first issue that can cause this is an bad ground on your car amplifier. You need to ensure the ground wire terminal is making proper electrical contact with the car's chassis, the metal frame of the vehicle. The car audio installer may have not grounded your car amplifier properly. To ensure an good car audio ground, you need to remove all paint around the mounting area. The best way to do to remove the pain for an car amp ground, is to scrape away the paint until you see bear metal. Paint can prevent electrical connection, as it acts as an insulator. You also need to ensure the bolt that holds the ground terminal is tighten securely and is not freely moving around.

If you have checked the ground and it is correct, then try relocating the RCA cables down the car away from the power wire. Depending on the quality of your cables, in terms of how good the shielding is on your RCA cables, sometimes noise can be picked up more easily. Running the red power wire down your car and the RCA cables on the separate side can prevent interference coming out of your car speakers. Also you can try purchasing high better quality RCA cables that are an standalone product, rather than using the cheap ones supplied with your car amp wiring kit. Thicker RCA cables generally mean better overall quality, as they have more shielding around the tiny wires inside that feed the low input signal from the car stereo into the input RCAs found on the car amplifier itself.

Try an noise suppressor car audio filter box. This is an inline device that connects in the middle between the RCA outputs on your car headunit and the RCA inputs on your car amplifier. There is some circuitry inside that reduces buzzing humming from your car speakers in your car audio system. This is something you should try as they are available cheaply online via ebay. Some say they do work and others have had no luck with them, you will have to try them to see.
