alpine mrv 1507

Back in 1999, when the Alpine v12 MRV 1507 2 channel amplifier was released it was a big power house in its contender. Even till this day, its one of the best subwoofers amps that provide clear and accurate SQ. Its got lots of adjustable high end features that allow you to adjust the type of sound you are looking for, thanks to the 1 band parametric equalizer between 30-200HZ and adjustable Q factor settings. Overall, for the price you can pick these up on Ebay they are worth every penny.

Now interms of how many watts the alpine mrv 1507 produces it as follows according to the user manual:

Bridged mode for 1 X Subwoofer (2 OHM)

600 WATTS RMS @ 4 OHMS LOAD 12 volts car off.

900 WATTS RMS @ 4 OHMS LOAD 14.4 car on with alternator charging car battery.

Now we have inspected the user manual and there is no mentioning of bridging the alpine mrv 1507 with a 2 ohm load. We have safely conducted a test on our bench wiring it up to a 2 ohm load for an hour. The results were very impressive and it does work fine. The amp will not overheat thanks to the clever design right out of the box with a large computer cooling fan placed in the middle to keep the heat out. So yes the old school 1990s Alpine V12 MRV 1507 can be bridged at 2 ohm load for more power. According to Dereck BigDWiz, an car audio youtuber that loves his old school car audio, has test benched this amp for the true rms power at 14.4 volts at 2 ohms getting you around 1224 rms, compared to 900 rms with a 4 ohm load.
