Although if your into car audio, sometimes having your subwoofer always on at full tilt can sometimes become annoying. If you have kids or family to take on summer trips, they may not prefer your car subwoofer to be so overpowering. An bass controller allows you to reduce the amount of signal the car amplifier is receiving, so you can turn the subwoofer volume up or down. You don't need one that is specific to your car amplifier make or model. You can simply pick up an ebay universal bass controller and fit it into your car audio system. Some advanced bass controllers allow you to adjust the frequency your car subwoofers plays at also altering how it sounds. This is an good feature to have if you have an sealed type of enclosure for your car subwoofers. This is because sealed boxes play flat right from 20HZ all the way to 80hz, so you can fine tune the type of sound you want it to focus playing.

Once you have purchased your universal bass controller from ebay, you need to decide were to mount it. The ideal location is usually under the drivers side steering wheel or inside the coin try storage space nearby. The glove box is also an suggested place to mount. You can mount the bass controller using double side 3M tape, or if you want more of an permanent fix, you can drill small holes are mount using the screws provided. The only issue with screwing into the dash is if you decide to remove it one day, there will be screwdriver marks visible which can affect the value of the car when if it comes to resale.

Once you have mounted your bass controller, you will need to connect into inline with your car amplifier. The bass control operates by controlling the signal received from the RCA cable, there are no additional power connections that you need to make, this making the installation process of an bass controller easy. There will be two sets of RCA cable coming from the bass controller unit. One set will be labelled as 'IN' white and red. You will need an short 1M RCA cable that is double ended with male jacks, one side connects into the 'IN' on the RCA bass controller and the other end into the 'OUTPUT' on the car stereo or RCA converter device if your using an factory stereo. The other end of the bass controller will be labelled as 'OUTPUT' use your normal RCA cables that come with your car amplifier kit and connect one end to the bass controller 'OUTPUT' and the other end into the 'INPUT' on the car amplifier. Your bass controller is now connected.
