Now car tweeters are installed into a vehicle audio system to provide you with that extra treble that midbass speakers lack to produce. If you want your tweeters to play louder, then its essential that you add an separate crossover and amp that is just dedicated to them. Running aftermarket tweeters from the car stereo usually in most cases is not enough to drive them to the full potential. The best way to make your car tweeters louder for free is to remove the small electrical capacitor that is fitted onto the positive terminal. This is used to filter out the low bass frequencies to prevent damaged to it, but if you are using an external amp with the crossover setup to filter out frequencies below 2000HZ you don't need it. Removing the power cap in this situation will make it sound louder and the treble will be more apparent as well as brighter.
1) Remove the tweeter from the door or pillar.
2) Look at the back of it. You will see two wires, one black and the other red.
3) Get a soldering iron and unmelt the solder that is holding the power cap onto the + terminal on the car tweeter.
4) Now all you need to do is solder on the positive speaker wire back onto the + terminal. So you are connecting the wire without having the power cap to filter out the frequencies inline with the cable.
