How To Fix Front Car Speakers Not Working

Having a car audio system can make your daily commute so much enjoyable, especially during them boring traffic journeys. If your front car speakers are not working, you might want to see if you can resolve this because you will not have a fully functional radio. If the front speakers are not working but your rear speakers are, chances are you have incorrectly adjusted the fader setting, so that all sound is just being sent to the back speakers. Power on your car stereo and go into the audio settings. Find the fader setting and check if it is setup to provide sound in the centre of the vehicle. It should be setup in the middle so sound comes out of the front car speakers and also the rear car speakers. If you have got your front car speakers playing sound again, then the problem has been solved.

If you have checked the fader settings in your car stereo and it is setup correctly, then the issue could be more serious. It could be the internal amplifier within your headunit that powers the front two car speakers has failed. This can happen worst case scenario. You should remove the car stereo from your cars dashboard and inspect the wiring. The connections could be disconnected due to vibrations of going over a rough bump or a poor speaker connection made by a previous owner. Please search on YouTube with the word radio remove with the make and model of your car to find out how to remove your car radio correctly. It is advisable to always watch somebody else remove the radio because then you can learn how they do it without breaking anything. With newer cars there are so many things to remove and disconnect before you can actually pop out the radio. With older cars from the 90s it was simply grabbing a flat head screwdriver and prying the thing out.

If both the front car speakers are not working, chances are that both front car speakers are not blown. If the left side is working and the right isn't from my experience working at a car audio shop, this happens due to a faulty speaker or loose connections behind the door card. Sometimes the speaker spade terminals that attached onto the back of the car speaker can become loose to a point where they rattle. Some cars also have factory car amplifiers fitted, this can be either in the trunk behind the carpet or under the seat. I have seen car amplifiers fail due to being water damaged, so you may have a faulty car amplifier. Sometimes you can find cheap replacements from car scrap breakers and pop it’s in. Bose systems tend to be amplifier that are found in Audis. Also to mention, the speaker wire going from the speaker to the car stereo that is fed through the rubber boot in between the door can become worn out. All them years of opening and closing the door will cause the speaker wire to degrade to a point when it just breaks off. Remove the door boot from the side of the front car speakers not working and examine the speaker wire.
