A car audio system is essential to have working during long journeys. Today you will learn how to fix front car speakers not working with no sound. There are many reasons as to why the front car speakers have stopped working in your car. It can be anything from a faulty speaker to a loose connection. If you are not a car audio expert like me and are trying to figure out how to fix your car stereo front speakers not working at home yourself, you will find our guide useful.

Check your settings. Check the fader and balance settings on your car stereo audio settings. Chances are that you may have accidentally turned down the signal being sent resulting in the front car stereo speakers not working. You should set it up to be in the middle, this will provide an equal about of output signal from the headunits amplifier to both the front and rear sets of speakers. In most cases should resolve the problem, we have seen many car stereos come into the car audio shop in this situation.

If you are using an external aftermarket amplifier to power your front door speakers, check if the amplifier is powered on. There should be a green light on it when the headunit is powered on. If there is no power, there is no sound. Check that the power cable is correctly firm with a working fuse. Check the remote turn on wire is connected firmly from the blue wire found at the back of the radio into the car amplifier. Check that the amplifier is properly grounded on metal that has been sanded down to provide good electrical contact. If the car amplimer powers on but there is no sound, then check the speaker wire is connected firmly into the screw terminals on the amplifier. Check no wires are touching each other, as a short can cause no sound coming from the front speakers. Check the RCA cable is firmly plugged in right from the outputs found on the car stereo directly into the car amplifier. If no luck please try a replacement car amplifier, there could be an internal problem with the MOSFETs.

Is one side of the front speaker working and the other front speaker is not? If so, then this could be one speaker that has failed or a loose connection in the door panel. You will need to use the relevant tools to remove the door card followed by removing the front speaker that is not working. The first thing you should consider is to test the not working front speaker on another source. You could try it on the other working side of your car and attach the wires onto it or test it at home from an Hifi system. If you also get no sound from the not working front car speaker, then you have identified the problem. The speaker is damaged and will need to be replaced, either with a stock or aftermarket part.

If the previous not working front car speaker works fine and sound comes out of it, then the speaker is not the problem. The problem could be anywhere between the speaker wire coming from the back of the car stereo into the door. It is recommended that you run a brand new speaker cable from the not working side of the car door directly into the wiring harness for the front speaker output. Usually, constant use of opening and closing the door places wear on the existing speaker wire found in between the door hinge. Overtime, the speaker wire becomes brittle resulting in a short in the speaker wiring.

If running replacement speaker cabling has not fixed the problem for you, the output source is likely the problem. The amplifier inside the car stereo you are using could be damaged. Try a different headunit to see if this fixes the problem. I hope this easy-to-understand article has helped you fix your front door speakers not working work again!
