How To Put Music On USB Memory Stick For Car Stereo Use

If you want to play music from a usb stick in your car, you will need to know the proper procedure when formatting and copying music onto it. Doing it incorrectly will cause USB supported problems and the car stereo will not pick up your music. Now the best flash drive for a car stereo would be a large capacity one between 32-64GB that supports USB 3.0 for fast data transfer. Once you have the USB stick, you will need to know how to put music on the flash drive for use with your car stereo. The first part is formatting it correctly to ensure that it gets picked up by the installed radio, followed by transferring music over.

Formatting USB:

1) Plug the USB memory stick into any available port on your computer.

2) Get into My Computer and Find the Name of the drive. For example it will be called Removable E.

3) Right click on the drive, from the drop down options and select Format.

4) A formatting software will now be displayed that is integrated into Windows operating system. You will need to select the file system to the FAT 32 option.

5) Click the start button at the bottom. This will now format your USB, basically wiping everything off and adding files internally to make it readable for your car stereo.

Adding Music:

1) Double click onto the drive name to open its contents up.

2) Find the .mp3 file you want to copy over. Select it, right click and select copy.

4) Go back into the USB drive and select paste. This will copy over the .mp3 file from the original source onto the memory stick.
