A subwoofer installed into a car can be dependent on how it performs based on how it is setup. This can include many different factors such as the box, amp, car stereo and crossover settings. If you want to get more bass from your car subwoofer these tips and tricks will make your speaker play louder. Most people that are new into car audio simply assume that getting a speaker with a box and putting into the trunk is a completed setup. But there is much more involved to achieve the best possible sound to make your subs sound deeper and louder.

1) Adjusting the audio settings on the car stereo can make a major difference. Most have an built in eq that allows you to increase the amount of bass. Increasing the sound in the 60HZ region will make the subwoofer play bass. louder. There usually is also a separate option as well that controls the DB level of the subwoofer.

2) Use the bass booster setting on the car amp. Now this is usually suggested as it can create the sound to appear distorted more quicker but if you want more bass from your car subwoofer it will do the trick nicely. Simply turn on the feature and turn up the bass booster setting until you have more deeper bass from your subs.

3) Bridge your car amp. If you are running a single subwoofer on a two channel amp then you can bridge across the channels. This will make one large output to be delivered to the sub, however this is only recommended if you subwoofer is currently being unpowered.

4) Upgrade your enclosure. A subwoofer can only do so much but it mostly relies on the box design. A cheap sub in a professionally designed box will play more deeper and louder than a expensive sub in a prefab box from walmart or bestbuy. If you want loud bass and you listen to alot of hip hop and rap its best suited for your music to build a ported vented box tuned to around 40 HZ.

5) Get a power cap. This is a device that is connected in between your car amplifier and the battery. The purpose of having this is to make the electrical system more stronger to stop voltage drop, so that the amp can provide more power when the amp needs it. We have tested them and yes power caps work so they are not a waste of money. If you are going to get a cheap cap from a brand like Boss its not going to work other than provide a nice volt meter to be shown on display.
