If you notice that your car stereo makes either a whistling or whirring noise when accelerating and decelerating, it could be that the power and RCA wires are too close to each other. This can cause interference from the power wire to leak into the signal leads making your speakers buzz when using your vehicle. The best method to overcome this problem is to run the power wire and RCA cables down separate sides. That way you are eliminating them from any form of contact to help reduce the chances of whirring noises to appear from your speakers. If that doesn't do the trick, then you will need to create a better grounding spot to get rid of alternator whine. To ensure that you have the perfect ground for your car amp follow exactly what we do in these instructions on a daily basis for audio installs for new customers.
1) For the best possible ground use 0 gauge wire. This is the thickest available that contains more copper that will help make better contact with the cars metal chassis.
2) Find a suitable location with a bolt. Its always best to remove any paint particles by sanding down the metal surface were you want to mount the ground. This is because if there is any left over, it can cause the ground to become weak. Spend at least 5 minutes sanding away the surface using sandpaper or a metal file.
3) Use a quality ring terminal. This is used for the ground wire to make contact with the bolt that transfers this contact to the chassis. Ensure that it is a sufficient size for the wire size and is firmly crimped down to prevent any loss of connection.
