If you want to remove the factory car stereo from your vehicle, you will need to use din key removal tools to release the clips holding it in the slot. Finding the right type of car stereo removal key kit can be hard to obtain and inexpensive for something that you are only going to use probably once. So as an alternative you can make your own car stereo removal keys. You could try using four small flat head screwdrivers inserting them into the two holes found on both sides of the radio to remove it. If that doesn't work then the best method would be to make one out of an old metal coat hanger as its long lasting and can be transferred easily into the required shape. This worked perfect when i had no din tools laying around my garage for removing a factory CD player from my friends ford focus st.
1) Using a strong wire cutter remove exactly 6 inches of metal wire from the hanger.
2) Hold both ends of the wire and bend it in half so that both ends are equally matched in length.
3) Use sandpaper or a nail file to remove the rough texture from the ends that you cut. This will make it less sharp, softer to handle and easier to slot into the holes.
