How To Factory Reset a Kenwood Car Stereo

If you have made changes to your Kenwood car stereo and want to revert it back to factory settings, you may want to carry out a master reset. This will basically restore it back to how it was when it was brand new out of the box. Also if you are having problems with any of the buttons or radio functions, resetting it back to the manufacturers settings could fix it. Now you might be thinking where is the reset button on your Kenwood car stereo, we can confirm today that its usually behind the faceplate. You might find this handy if you don't have the user manual handy right now.

1) Remove the panel from the front of the CD Player.

2) Next to the disc slot you should see a small hole nearby its location. This is the reset button.

3) You will require something small that is pokey to push it into the hole and press down the button. This can be anything from an old paper clip to a pencil thin screwdriver.

4) While power is going into the stereo, insert your object into the reset button and hold it down for 5 seconds. If its powered off it will not reset, so make sure its switched on with the cars ignition on.
