How To Fix ANDROID radio that keeps rebooting or restarting

Android car headunit stuck in boot loop FIX

If your android car headunit is stuck on the loading screen or stuck in a bootloop, then it will constantly be giving you problems rebooting and restarting, common car audio problems. The main reason why something like this would occur is due an issue with the android operating system installed onto your android radio. Sometimes if the radio is not shut off correctly either by yourself or a previous owner, it will corrupt the files installed into the firmware chip. The easiest way to fix an android radio that keeps rebooting is to perform a factory reset. If it rebooting all the time, you won't be able to get into the menu to reset your android radio to factory settings. You must perform a hard reset to fix this restarting problem which is not complicated at all. On every android radio there is usually a hard-reset button located on the front panel, either located near the button or top screen area. It will a small hole, inside the hole is a small reset button.

To reset your android radio to factory settings, obtain a small pointed object such as a needle or pin. The pointed end will be sufficient on either one. Ensure that cars ignition is switched so the android headunit is getting power. Insert the pointed objected of your choice directly into the reset hole location, hold down the button by pressing on top the object that you have fitted. Please hold down for 30 seconds, you will notice the screen may go black during this period, this is a good sign the factory reset is working. Once you have reached the recommended time, release the pin. The radio will now restart and it will be reset to factory settings. In most cases this will solve common android radio rebooting problems.

If the pin hard reset had not worked in fixing your faulty android headunit, then you can keep restarting the unit it eventually launches onto the home screen. Within the settings option you will see a factory reset option that you can select. It is different with every android operating system and android radio manufacturer, but the reset option will be easily found. If both reset methods don’t fix your broken radio, then the radio itself may have a wiring issue. The radio might not be getting a constant power feed from your car battery. Get an multimeter and attach the red probe to the yellow wire from the wiring harness found on the back of the stereo and the black probe onto the black ground wire. Check the voltage, is it always reading 12 and above or is it unstable? If it read various voltages below 12 volts, then that may suggest the constant 12 volt wire is not working as it should. Try feeding a new 12 volts directly from the car battery and retest. The red wire is the ignition wire, this wire can also be loose or not connected to a proper source. Please also test this in the same way when the key is switched to the on position.
