How To Hard Reset a Car Stereo

If your car stereo is not working properly and is being randomly problematic, it is recommended to carry out a hard reset. This will instantly wipe off all your settings from your car stereos internal short term memory. This process is different to a normal factory reset on a car stereo that you would to by pressing down the reset button down. This should only be suggested if soft resetting your car stereo doesn't fix the problem. Even though this is a in depth reset, it will not remove the radio code from your CD Player.

1) Turn off your car stereo and turn off the engine.

2) Pop that small hatch found under your steering wheel to open the front hood.

3) Get a wrench from a socket set and unscrew the positive terminal from the car battery.

4) Leave it disconnected for 5 minutes This will terminate the power completely to the car stereo wiping its internal memory clean.
