A square blade or glass fuse is put in place to protect the electrical device from getting damaged if an overload or a short circuit occurs. If you have checked the radio fuse in the cars independent fuse box, you will need to also check the fuse that protects the actual car stereo. When you are replacing a blown fuse please make sure that its the correct rating. For example, don't replace a 10 amp fuse with a 15 amps fuse just because you have to 10 amp fuses left. This is because it will defeat the purpose of the fuse and it will fail to protect the car stereo next time if something does go wrong.
1) Power off the car stereo you want to change the fuse.
2) Remove the CD Player from the din slot.
3) Now the fuse is either placed into the back of the stereo or on the red power wire.
4) Remove the fuse from the holder. To check the fuse is damaged or blown hold it up and look in the middle of it. If the wire appears to be burnt or snapped then its damaged. If it looks in good shape you will need to apply further troubleshooting.
