How To Remove Kenwood Radio From Dash The Correct Way

If you want to sell or check the wiring on the back of your Kenwood car stereo, then you will need to remove it from the dash. There is a metal mesh din cage that is fitted inside that houses the radio. On each side there are two clips that lock it in place. Now if you have purchased the CD Player brand new it will have the din removal tools in the box in a small plastic packet. If you don't have them, then you can use two flat head screwdrivers as an alternative to remove it instead. All you need to do is push the clips down to release it and take out a Kenwood car radio.

1) Power off the car stereo as a safety precaution.

2) Insert the release keys or tools into both sides of the Kenwood car radio. If you don't have them right now then use two small flat head screwdrivers instead.

3) Push them down to release the radio from the cage. You can then take out the Kenwood radio from the dashboard pulling it outwards.
