If you have an aftermarket car stereo its a standard feature for all of them to come with a quick access removable detachable front face panel. This increases the level of security and theft because if its gets stolen its useless because without the faceplate it will not work at all. This will make it have no resell value at all making it less prone to being stolen. Now to remove the front faceplate from your car stereo you don't need any tools or screwdrivers. In fact it has a quick release mechanism that allows you to pop it out literally in a matter of seconds.
1) Look at the front panel of the detachable face on the car stereo.
2) The will be a small button in a corner that says 'Release' or 'Unlock'.
3) Push this in quickly and the front panel will come off. You can put this in your pocket when you have parked your car.
4) To reattach the front faceplate, simply line it up with the front part of the radio, matching up the gold connectors with each other on the back and pressing it in. If you have done it correctly, you should hear a click sound as it will lock securely in place.
