How To Fix Kenwood Car Stereo FACEPLATE Not Working

If you have a Kenwood branded stereo with a removable front faceplate panel, each time you remove it the connector becomes exposed to dust and dirt. When this makes contacts with the gold metal contacts on the back of the faceplate and the front part of the radio it will not provide proper electrical conductivity. This is can cause problems such as the buttons not working on your car stereo or the screen doesn't come on and is blank appearing to be off. Most of the time to fix this audio problem you will need to wipe down them down with a cloth to make them new again. Remember not to use any cleaning solvents this can may cause damage to it and make them rust.

1) Switch off the ignition to power off the car radio. You don't want it powered on while cleaning it as you could cause a short blowing out a fuse.

2) Remove the front faceplate panel from the Kenwood car stereo.

3) Once you have done that, get a soft lint free cloth and go over the connectors on the back of the faceplate and the front of the car stereo. You will need to clean them both because they both coming in contact with each other when its fitted back on.
