If you are thinking about installing an aftermarket external car amplifier with a factory stock car radio system, you will need to add rca inputs manually yourself. This is because in order for the amp to play music directly to the subwoofer or speakers, it will need a input signal to be feeded in. In fact all car cd players that factory fitted don't come with integrated RCA inputs because they are not a high concern if people are into their car audio because they always have the option to swap it out with a different one. However, if you want to keep things looking stealthy and untouched. you can add rca inputs by attaching a rca adapter converter box. This works because it will take the high level signal from the speakers and convert it into a low level output making it compatible with any car amp. Now the sound quality you gain from this will never be as equal to installing a high end aftermarket headunit, but there are some decent converter boxes on the market that have a low noise ratio.
1) Remove your car stereo from the din slot.
2) Disconnect the speaker wires on the rear channels.
3) Connect them to the two sets of input terminals on the rca converter box.
4) Attach the RCA cables into the jacks and run the wire all the way down your car. This may involve you to remove carpets and plastic trims to hide away the wires.
5) Connect the RCA plugs into the input sockets on the amplifier. Now all you need to do is tune the gain control accordingly to prevent any distortion being heard.
