How To Connect Your Phone Directly To a Car Amp Without Needing a Car Stereo CD Player

If you are installing a car amplifier at home, or don't have a car stereo CD player headunit, you can still connect your phone directly to it. All the car amplifier does is converts the inputted signal into a much larger one, regardless of what source the music is coming from it doesn't really matter. Now you can connect your phone to your car amp without needing any kind of car related CD player. You just need to purchase a AUX cable with two RCA leads. This will split the signal sent from the phones internal DAC into the amp and you can control the volume from the phone itself. I have tried this with a few home setups to experiment with it and the sound quality is really good. Just remember to setup the gain correctly with a screwdriver to prevent any distortion being heard and damaging your speakers or subwoofers. This works literally with anything that has a headphone jack, ipods, iphones, android smarphones, portable games console etc..

1) Before you do this, you will need to trick the amp into turning on so get a small piece of wire and jumper it between the power and remote turn on terminals.

2) Connect the aux cable jack into the 3.5mm headphone socket on the device you want to connect to your car amplifier.

3) You will have two RCA cables, so plug them into the RCA socket inputs on the amp, matching the colours.

4) Thats it the connections are all made, you have now bypassed connecting a car stereo to your amp. All you need to do is press play on your music player on your device and that will input the music into the amp.
