Its ideal to connect either a Sony PlayStation or Microsoft Xbox Console to your car DVD player stereo headunit with a screen if you want a quick game on the go. This can be possible because it can act as a video input source that can display any picture that is provided to it as a signal just like a TV. To power it up you will require a 200 watts power inverter adapter kit, which basically converters the regular 12 volts into the standard voltage that comes from your usual mains household socket. The other part involves connecting the video games console to the front.
Obtaining power:
1) Most come with a connection to the cigarette lighter socket for power. If you are going to apply a permanent install, then its ideal to connect it to the battery directly. This way the cig socket doesn't get used up and it can get better current flow.
2) Connect the mains plug from the games console into the box.
3) Switch on the power inverter.
4) Ensure that you mount it in a well ventilated location so that the cooling fan can blow out the hot air that is built up inside the device. If you don't take this into consideration, then this can lead to overheating problems and the entire system shutting down on you at any given random point.

Connecting the games console to the DVD Player:
Now it depends what type of connections you have on your wiring harness. If its a older style then it will have RCA video connections, if its a newer it could have a HDMI port. Instructions have been provided for both kinds of setups to help you out with the installation process.
1) Look on the back of the wiring harness loom you will need to remove it from the din slot. Look for what is available you will see one or another.
2) If you are connecting using RCA Leads, yellow, red and white, then connect them matching the colours the exact same. If you are connecting using HDMI, plug the lead into the port and attach the other end into the console.
3) Your car stereo should automatically pick it up as soon as you switch it on. If it doesn't then you may have to switch over into 'AV Video' mode and find it when it picks up the display picture. You might need to the small provided remote control for this to expand the options in the settings.
