How To Connect Car Audio Signal Processor Box Into System

You can connect an external car audio signal processor into your system to improve the sound quality. Inside the box is a bunch of clever electronics that takes the stereos input signal, tidies it up and clarifies it slightly and sends it back into the car amplifier. No matter how good the internal DAC is on any type of headunit including a bose audi system, you still can't beat the output that you gain with a good signal processor installation. I installed one not to long ago in a Subaru Impreza wrx sti 2005 and it took around 1 hour to complete. In terms of finding the best car audio DSP processor, you will have to do your research into the reviews left from previous purchasers. The three brands that i would say i would go with are Kicker, Rockford Fosgate and JL audio as they make decent products at an affordable price. To save yourself some money, you could also perhaps look on Ebay or the local classified ads to see if you can see any second hand ones for sale.

1) Mount the processor either in the glovebox, under the front seats or in the trunk.

2) Connect an RCA cable from the output RCA socket on the stereo into the input on the DSP processor box. These should be labelled accordingly on the devices. so it should not be that hard to identify what you need to connect and were. This will feed in the music so that it can be cleaned up into a better output.

3) You will need power to start it up. So connect the power wire to a 12 volts supply, possibly the same wire your stereo or amp powers on from. Also you will need to connect the black ground wire to metal and the remote turn on lead with the blue wire coming from the stereos wiring harness.

4) Now you will need to connect your car amplifiers. Most car audio signal processors contain three sets of RCA's, including one subwoofer, front and rear. So for each dedicated amp you have, connect an RCA cable from the processor into the input jacks on the car amp. So if you have a big amp for a subwoofer for bass, then you would jumper across the RCA cable into the sub output socket on the signal processor box.
