You can keep yourself and the kids entertained on long drives by connecting a PlayStation games console into your car. If you have an in car dvd car stereo installed or screens in the back headrest, all you need is to obtain power to turn on the games console. Now the standard car battery produces 12 volts, you will require a power inverter that will convert it from DC to 230 volts AC current. You can get a decent on in the UK for about 50 pounds. The one that we recommend to use is any make that is rated at a minimum of 500 watts. Anything higher is unnecessary wasting money for no reason and lower will not power up your console. Once you have the power inverter you will need to know how to connect into your cars electrical system. The overall installation can take around 10 minutes and its not as complicated as you think it would be.
1) You will need to find a suitable location to mount the power inverter. Underneath a car seat or inside the glovebox compartment would be fine. As long as there is space around it so the fan can get airflow it will be fine and will not overheat in the long term of using it.
2) The best way is to hardwire it into your car. So cut of the cig socket plug that is coming from the power wires.
3) Unstrip both wires and connect them directly to the car battery. Red wire going to the (+) terminal and the black wire going to the (-) on the car battery.
4) Plug in the mains plug that connected to the game console.
5) Key your cars ignition. You will hear the fan start up on the power inverter and the console stanby light will come on.
