How To Fix Subwoofer Distortion At High Volumes

Car subwoofers can also sound distorted as well speakers at high volumes because having of a dirty signal wave coming from the output source that is feeding the power. With subwoofers it can be tricky fiquring out when the bass distorts as it can be on the lower or high notes and also sometimes it can be track dependent. To fix subwoofer distortion at high volume levels there are a few things that you can do to help minimise it.

1) Reduce the bass level on the stereo. What some people do is turn the bass all the way on the cars equalizer settings thinking they are going to get more output. Most of the time it makes the headunit run into distorting far more quicker. So why not try turning it down to reduce bass distortion at high volume levels.

2) Turn off the bass booster setting on the amp. If your car amp has this setting enabled to the highest level it is going to cause a distorted signal regardless. We strongly recommend that you don't use this feature unless you really need to.

3) Tune the gain control properly. You got to remember this is not a volume control, in fact it is used to match the volts from the RCA cable that is coming from the stereo with the amp. Turning it all the way up without listening to how it affects the sound is not a good idea. What you want to do is turn it all the way down, play a music track from the car stereo and slowly increase it stopping when you hear distortion backing it down slightly.
