The last thing you want is your subwoofer enclosure box sliding around in the trunk when you are going up a steep hill in your car. This can result the cone of the speaker to get damaged, since objects are more prone to move around in the trunk. Also if the subwoofer moves on the floor in your car, the wires that are attached onto the box can become loose causing further car audio problems. The best way to secure a subwoofer box down is using Velcro straps. This means no drilling holes or fitting in metal plates, as they look unprofessional and reduce the value of the car. Velcro also means that you can take your sub box in and out of the trunk without the hassle of removing screws. You can get all kinds of strong Velcro straps on Ebay or Amazon for a cheap price.
1) Open the trunk so that you can get to the
subwoofer enclosure.
2) Flip the enclosure over so that you can see
the bottom side that the box sits on in the trunk.
3) Measure up and cut four separate straps that
cover the length and width of the bottom base.
4) Peel away the sticky side of the Velcro straps
and carefully place them up corner to corner on all four sides of the bottom of
the box.
5) Now line up your subwoofer enclosure where you
want to secure it down in the trunk and place it down and apply slight
pressure. The Velcro that is installed onto the bottom of the subwoofer in the
trunk will be securely mounted because it will stick onto the carpet on the
floor.
