How To Keep Amp in Trunk Cool Using Fans

If you have bridged your car amplifier to a low final ohm load, your car amplifier might suffer from overheating and go into protect mode at some random point. This can be inconvenient when you are bumping your music on long drives and climates were you have summer weather all the time. Now to keep your car amplifier cool, you can build you own custom cooling system out of some regular fans. Now you can have multiple cooling fans with your car amps in your trunk. This will fix problems such as amp overheating and shutting off at random instances, helping to prolong the life of your car amp as well.

1) Mounting the computer fan. The best way that will leave the amp in original condition is to place it ontop. There is no point of drilling holes because that will make it look cheap if it goes wrong. The cold air that gets blown onto the metal heatsink will dissipate and get into the amp.

2) Connecting the fan. Unstrip the red and black wires that are coming from the computer fan. This will be red for volts and black for ground.

3) Now the best connection method is to connect it with the remote terminal found on the amp. This is because they will be controlled and will only power on if the car amp is switched on. So connect the red wire from the cooling fan into the remote and connect the black wire into the ground on the amp.
