If you have a car stereo fitted into your vehicle with an aux input feature, you can connect your iphone directly to it for music playback using a aux cable. An aux cable is a compact small lead that is widely available that has a 3.5mm jack on both ends, the same one that you see on headphones. This means its literally plug and play when connecting an aux cable to your iphone to work with your car CD player. If you are still unsure with how to connect your iphone using an aux cable then you will need to take into consideration these instructions. You can get a cheap aux cable from asda or tesco or any other big leading supermarket or car shop for only a few pounds. Also please be aware that this cable only transfers sound, if you want to charge your iphone while using the aux cable, then you will need connect a separate usb cable into the cigarette lighter for it to get charged up. This also works for Samsung, Sony and HTC branded phones as well which is great.

1) Find the aux socket on the front panel of the car stereo it should be labelled. Plug one end of the aux cable into the socket.
2) Connect the other end into the headphone socket on your iphone. On the older 4's its at the top and on the newer models such as the iphone 5's and 6's its at the bottom.
3) Now all you got to do is enable the aux feature on the car stereo. There should be a button to change the mode for example radio, CD, aux. All you then need to do is launch the music player from your iphone and play a track. The music from your phone will now play through your car speaker system.
