You can factory reset the navigation system headunit in your Honda car if you are planning to sell it on to somebody. This is essential to do because all your information that you have entered such as phone numbers, address's used for gps and personalised settings will still be on there. When doing a factory reset it basically wipes everything off in one go. The best way to do this is to disconnect the power going to the Honda car stereo to erase the short term memory. Some people have left feedback to say that the dvd disc is reading an error is now fixed thanks to resetting the unit. This will only reset the Honda car stereo back to factory settings, it will not remove the radio code and it may ask for it once its been reset by pulling the plug.
1) Power off the car engine and open up the hood.
2) Locate the car battery and remove the positive terminal from it using a spanner.
3) Leave the wire disconnected for about 1 minute and reconnect it.
4) The Honda navigation system will not be fully factory reset and restored back to factory settings.
