All car radios come with an
internal radio that allows you to listen to your favourite stations on go. You
can store your favourite preset stations on your car stereo to save you time in
the future finding them again manually. If your car stereo loses and forgets
the radio stations its most likely that the yellow memory wire is not
connected. This is used to allow the car radio to save the stations when its
turned off. The red wire is used turn the car stereo on in time with the cars
ignition. Just because your car radio is not saving stations it doesn’t mean
its faulty. All you need to do is connect the yellow memory wire and the
problem will be fixed.
1) Remove the car stereo from the din slot.
2) Look at the wires coming from the wiring harness that plugs
into the back of the radio.
3) You will notice that there will be two color wires with
bullet connectors.
4) What you need to do is swap them over. For example, the red
bullet connector going into the yellow bullet connector. Try this out, if this
doesn’t work then attempt to adjust them in the opposite to what has been
mentioned. This should allow your car radio to save the stations like a factory
wired install.
