If you have installed either a Kenwood car stereo that supports GPS such as the dnx570hd or the dnx690hd and get the no map data available message appear on the screen upon update the maps will fail to load. This happens because sometimes the headunit has not noticed that there are new maps installed and is still looking for the old files. The old maps won't work because they are overwrited by the new map firmware update so the stereo will fail to load the information. The best way to fix this car audio problem is to carry out a quick and simple factory hard reset. If the below resetting method doesn't restore the maps functionality, then you might want to disconnect the wiring harness from the back for 10 seconds to wipe its memory clean.
1) Power on the Kenwood car stereo.
2) Look on the front there is a triangle reset button. This is the button that looks like the logo that is used.
3) Hold down the reset button for 5 seconds and let go. The screen will turn off and the CD player will now restart with the new map files.
