Many local customers at our car audio shop always seem to get the common buzzing from subwoofer problem. This takes place when the car amplifier picks up electrical interference from its surroundings and transfers the same signal down to your speakers. The humming noise itself can get louder with the speed you are driving or can apparent only at idle.
Check Your RCA Cables. These provide the music signal from your car stereo right into your amp, its job is to then covert it into a bigger louder signal. Sometimes the connections inside become loose inside the jack plugs or the shielding becomes brittle due to cold weather conditions. So its always essential to try a spare pair and run it quickly down your side panels and check if the buzzing sound has been eliminated completely.
Check the Grounding Spot. If its weak with poor conductivity with the chassis metal, its not going to provide a clean trouble free connection. What you want to do is connect the ground loop to bear metal. So the area were you are going to mount it, use some sandpaper to scratch off all the remaining paint particles.
Your Power and RCA cables are too close together. Most people run them separately, so one cable goes to the opposite side of the vehicle. If both cables are running down the same panel, its worth trying to see if it makes any noticeable difference to your sound system.
