How To Install Car Component Speakers With a Crossover Box To Amp

Installing component speakers into your car will require you to install a small crossover box. This allows separate frequencies to be sent to the midrange speaker and tweeter. This is why component speakers sound far more better in terms of sound quality against normal coaxial speakers. If you have not installed component speakers with a crossover system before today you will learn how. Its not hard at all and it can take around 15 minutes per each door. I would recommend that you power your component speakers using a external amplifier that matches the rms rating. This is because these type of speakers need more power than a normal aftermarket or stock car stereo can supply to sound there best.

1) Remove the door card panel from the door.

2) Unscrew the existing speaker and tweeter from there locations.

3) Mount the crossover box inside the door panel. You can use velcro or double side tape to hold it in place.

4) Connect the speaker wire from the car amplifier to the input terminals on the crossover box. All the connections will be labelled for you so you know were to insert the cables into.

5) Connect the speaker wire from the midrange speaker into the midrange set of terminals found on actual the crossover box. The remaining connections will be to connect the tweeter.

6) Now that the connections are made into the crossover box the hard part is done. All you need to do now is install the new midrange driver and tweeter into the existing locations.
