Why Use Polyfill In a Subwoofer Box?

If you are looking for more deeper low bass output from the existing enclosure your car subwoofer is placed inside, adding polyfill into a car subwoofer box can make a big difference. Basically, Polyfill is white fluffy stuffing that is placed inside the box, to make the speaker think that its placed in a bigger box as it increases the internal cubic volume. The more damping material you add, the more the bass will get deeper, but also overstuffing can have a negative effect on sound quality. Now in terms of where to buy polyfill from, you can get it from your local DIY store or even extract it from some new or used pillows.

1)  Unscrew the screws holding the subwoofer into the box. Lift the sub out and disconnect the speaker wires fitted into the terminals.
