If your car stereo speakers only plays one side, the soundstage will appear all over the place as it will not sound balanced throughout the car. If you have checked all the speaker connections and the speakers are still playing only on one side, then check the fader settings on the car stereo. This setting is found usually in the audio settings, the same one under equalizer that allows you to move the sound from the front to the back. You might have accidentally moved the sound to one side so the speakers only plays in a certain direction. This can easily be fixed by adjusting the fader settings in your car cd player. Also if you are using an aux cable, it can also cause your speakers to only play one side as the small wires inside the 3.5mm connector can break off.
1) Power on your cd player.
2) Go into 'Audio Settings'. For some it will be
listed under audio or sound depends on make and model.
3) Find and select the 'Fader or Balance’ option.
4) It will say front and rear on the screen on
the front panel for the left and right speakers. There will be an indicator in
the middle between the two points showing you were the sound is more directed
towards. Adjust this until you get sound from both your front and rear
speakers.
Most of the time its the fader also known as
balance control that is out of position that is causing a car speaker to not work on one side. Its a common problem that most users
don't seem to realise when they are messing around find tuning with the
different settings on an aftermarket headunit.
