fix car cd player that wont play or read discs error

If your car CD player stereo wont read or play music audio discs at all and displays a disc error, it will not read the data so it wont work. However, if you notice that it keeps skipping or jumping then sooner or later its going to give you more problems than you expect. The best solution would be to clean the laser lens found inside the radio. The lens might have dust on it that can obstruct its image with accessing the information. If your car stereo doesn't play burned CD's that a totally different issue and it might be that its not compatible with them or how you have created them.

To clean the laser lens on a car CD player that wont read or play discs, the best way recommended by us is to using a cleaning disc. This basically makes contact with the lens when the disc is pulled in and the brushes buff off any dirt or dust. All without having to remove any screws and open up the car stereo to do an internal clean. This is very convenient and it reduces the chances of you breaking your car CD player. You can get them for a couple of pounds from Ebay or Amazon and they come with the liquid as well.

1) Remove the lens cleaning disc from the packet.

2) Unscrew the cap from the liquid bottle and pour three to four drops onto the small brush found placed at the bottom of the disc.

3) With the brush side facing down on the disc, insert it into the car stereo disc slot so it gets sucked into the drive.

4) Press play on the car stereo and let it run through the first track. While this is happening, the disc is spinning really fast inside and is cleaning the laser lens for you. Allow this to take place for a couple of minutes.

5) Eject the cleaning disc from the car radio. Insert a music disc of your choice to see if you get any improvement on the stabilisation of the music. If its not made any difference, then the laser lens is coming close to an end. So i would say the cheapest option would be to replace it with a brand new aftermarket one rather than getting it repaired as it could result in being more expensive.
