How To Get Coins Out of Car CD Player

If you were traveling with young children or kids recently on your road trip, chances are they got bored and inserted penny coins into your CD player. They might not assume that the slot is used to insert discs not coins and think its some kind of money box system. The penny coins are most likely sitting inside the disc drive were the laser lens is placed the component that is used to read data from discs. There is no possible way that you can remove the coins from your CD player without opening it. You will have to take off the top part and remove the coins manaully one by one until they have been all removed from the stereo.

1) Remove the CD player with the coins stuck in from the cars din slot.

2) Disconnect the wiring harness plug.

3) Get a screwdriver and remove all the screws that hold the top metal cover in place.

4) Lift off the top cover from the car stereo and place it to a side.

5) There might be another metal cover with the disc spindle that you might have to remove. This does vary because some don't have this seperately.

6) Now you have clear access to the disc drive, hand pick all the copper coins and remove them from the CD player. While its open, you might as well get a can of compressed air and give it a nice clean to prolong its lifespan even further for another couple of years.
