If the dust cap on your car speaker is pushed in all the way it will not affect the sound quality at all. The performance and detail of the audio will always remain the same, its just that the overall look of the speaker will be damaged. The reason why a dust cap is placed into the middle area of the cone is prevent any dust or dirt getting trapped inside the voice coil wire. If this happens the speaker can develop crackling or buzzing sound problems and other performance related issues. The reason why speaker dust caps get dented in the first place is because of kids or by accident when fitting them into your car. Either way you want to know how to fix a dented dust cap that is fitted to a speaker cone, well all you need is really is a regular vacuum cleaner for the repair. This will remove the dent in the speaker cone because it will suck it out and restore it back to its original shape safely without ripping the cone or tearing it. Theses instructions works for car speakers, subwoofers and even tweeters.
1) Attach a plastic tube nozzle onto the vaccum cleaner pipe.
2) Adjust the power on it so its setup on the medium level. You don't want to set it too high or it might rip off the dust cap because of the huge amount of suction force removing the glue.
3) Turn on the vaccum cleaner and direct the nozzle to the dinted area. Go upwards, downwards and across until the dented car speaker is completely fixed. If some of the dent still remains during the repair, you can use double side tape to pull it up.
