How To Get Deep Low Thumping Subwoofer Bass In a Car

If you want bass that sounds really deep, bass that is thumping, that pounds really hard on your chest, shakes windows and want window flex, in your car, then you will need to understand a few things. First off all, let me tell you that in order to achieve deep bass that vibrates your car to bits, you will need to have a subwoofer, that has a large cone area. This is because the large the cone, the more air the subwoofer car push into your car, to make things vibrate and shake. The more cone area the subwoofer has, the more deeper the bass is going to sound and feel. So if you are going for deep bass and have plenty off free room in the vehicle's truck, i would strongly recommend you to get an 12, 15 or even a 18 inch subwoofer, as they move more air, if compared to a 8 or 10 inch sub that has smaller cone area.

As well as cone area, you must understand that, the more subwoofers you have, the more air will be moved in your car. If you using only one subwoofer and have space for a couple more, then build a new ported enclosure, that is tuned low, i say about 30Hz because having multiple subs in a low tuned box, means double or triple the cone area of having just one sub. For example if you have 2 15 inch Kicker subwoofers in an enclosure, it will equal to 30 inchs of cone area, which means more air is going to be moved, if compared to an single 15 inch sub.

The type of enclosure depends on how bass will sound and feel. There are two main types of enclosure bass boxes designs. The first one is an sealed box, it is air tight, that has no air leaks, that delivers a tight, accurate and clean sound, as they create an accurate bass response, creating a flat frequency response curve, which suck if your looking after low, ground pounding sounding and shaking bass. The second one is an ported, also know as an vented type of speaker box, which has an port, or an vent that is tuned to an specific frequency, to increase spl and response in the frequency the port/vent is tuned to. Most people that want to set car alarms off in parking lots, tune the port inside the box fairly low around 28-30 Hz, which is the advantage you gain from an sealed box, if your looking low end bass and the more lower you tune your box, the more bass will get deeper, however it will suck on the high notes.
