How To Fix a Car Amplifier Light That Stays On When Car is Shut Off

If you notice the car amplifier that you have installed into your car stays on when the cars ignition is shut off, then the power indicator on the amp itself will light up, even though the car ignition is turned off. This can be an problem because your car amplifier is powered on and shows it is constantly draining power from the car battery, which will eventually make the car battery flat. The car battery will become flat because the amp is draining juice from the car battery no stop and the alternator is not charging up the battery because your not driving. So you will need find the problem what is causing the car amp to drain the battery power, or eventually you will have an dead car battery.

My advice is the problem could be that you might have connected the remote turn on wire to an  12 volts source that provides constant voltage, even when you turn off the cars ignition. The remote wire from the car amp connects to the blue remote wire found on the wiring harness on the rear of the stereo. So the car amplifiers only turns on when you are going to listen to music, using the car stereo. If you have connected this wire by mistake to an wire that provides a constant voltage, such as an wire that provides a voltage for the car alarm, or the remote wire terminal on the car amplifier is directly hooked up to the car battery, either way it will make the amp come on because it tricks it to think the head unit is on.
